Fabric Requirements
If Using Old Jeans
The tutorial recommends using a Large pair of jeans or larger.
For the pattern pieces to fit comfortably, the jeans should have approximately:
Leg length: Minimum 72 cm / 28" from the bottom hem to the back pocket
Leg width: Minimum 23 cm / 9" just below the knee
Larger jeans will generally give you more room to position the pattern pieces.
Lining Fabric
For a standard non-directional fabric approximately 1.4–1.6 m wide, you will need around:
0.5 metre / 20" of lining fabric
For fabrics with a clear directional print, approximately:
0.75 metre / 30" may be required
If you're making the exterior from fabric instead of jeans, similar fabric requirements should be considered for the outer bag.
